Gold Coast Mayor, Councillor – Cr. – Tom Tate yesterday officially opened Australian instant highway firm Global Road Technology – GRT – new international headquarters.
Global Road Technology is an Australian manufacturing company that provides revolutionary infrastructure solutions using revolutionary polymer-based materials to create better and safer roads for people, industry and communities around the world. Over the past two years, it has been engaged to supply its infrastructure solutions to projects in South and North America, Southeast Asia and India as well as Australia, working on contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
Cr. Tate said that it was a proud moment to witness the work of a successful Queensland business, believing it was the kind of success supported and fostered by the city.
“We’re committed to delivering a business environment to create long-term prosperity for the Gold Coast,” Cr. Tate said.
“Innovation is one of the key themes of our Economic Development Strategy, which is working hard to promote business growth and investment in this city and GRT is a fantastic example of business growth through its investment in research and development.”
Are environmental regulations, health and safety concerns or potential profit loss a concern right now?
Event attendee’s included, Deputy Mayor of the City of Gold Coast, Cr. Donna Gates, CEO of the Gold Coast Titans, Graham Annesley, representatives from the Queensland resources and infrastructure industries and the University of Queensland, as well as key business figures.
In-line with this approach Global Road Technology is currently undertaking a significant investment in research and development to develop leading edge, environmentally friendly polymer materials that are used in the application of their road stabilisation and dust control products.
According to Chief Financial Officer, Mr Herman Allison this is why GRT has established a purpose-built facility at Yatala, Queensland, as a manufacturing and operational base to manage their global expansion.
“As part of our worldwide expansion the firm has set-up this site to manage our growing global operations by consolidating certain aspects of our business in one facility,” Mr Allison said, the recently developed road maintenance software program (RMS) can give our staff the ability to manage a road construction project anywhere in the world, no matter which time zone.
“GRT is also investing significantly in research and development at this location as it seeks to further cement its reputation as a world leading developer of environmentally friendly polymer based dust suppression and soil stabilization products.”
Global Road Technology uses and develops revolutionary road stabilization products for use in the infrastructure, mining, commercial, industrial, farming sectors as well as helping developing communities and other commercial applications worldwide.
